This site is devoted to the wildlife of the Richmond area, as well as throughout the state of Virginia. Select a Gallery from the buttons at top to view photos and information. You can alter how the photos are arranged by using the Sort buttons. The Family Group button also groups the photos by members of each scientific family.

Entries with grey borders are native species, while those with reddish borders are migratory, introduced, invasive, accidental, or otherwise any kind which you might not expect to find here year-round.

Please excuse the wide range of photo quality. In some cases we have had only one encounter with the subject and are including its photo for completeness, even when the photo in question is of dubious quality.
